Choja/Nakane Jusansha Matsuri

Choja/Nakane Jusansha Matsuri Chiba (Sept.)

Choja/Nakane Jusansha Matsuri is said to be an odd matsuri of the old area of Kazusa. Youths make a tower three to four people high, and the people at the top open a fan of the rising sun flag and shout “Oyanoheida”. Mikoshi (portable shrines) from the Choja region and the Nakane region gather in the Misaki sports ground, and a large, lively crowd assembles to watch the dynamic grand parting ceremony.
