Gujo Hachiman Haru Matsuri Gifu (Apr.)

Gujo Hachiman Haru Matsuri is an event to signal the beginning of spring.Daikagura, or sacred dance, performances by the three grand shrines of Gujo Hachiman, Kishitsurugi Shrine, Hiyoshi Shrine and Hachiman Shrine, take place in the streets of the castle town. The area echoes with the sounds of the musical accompaniment, played by children on flutes and drums. All three performances are designated as Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties of Gifu Prefecture.
