Oitatsu Hachimangu Jinkosai

Oitatsu Hachimangu Jinkosai Fukuoka (May)

In the Oitatsu Hachimangu Jinkosai, the O-shioitori purification ceremony is held on the first day, followed by the O-kudari on the second, and the O-nobori on the third, when the mikoshi (shrine float) are taken from the shrine and then returned. Eight floats accompany the mikoshi, traveling 100 meters across the area called Baba in front of the shrine. It is a dynamic matsuri, in which around 100 people carry a creaking 3.5 ton float, and can suitably be called an "offering of strength".
