Kikuna no Ameya Odori

Kikuna no Ameya Odori Kanagawa (Oct.)

Kikuna no Ameya Odori is held in Kikuna, Minamishitaura-machi, Miura City. It is a dance performed at the annual matsuri of Hakusan Shrine on October 23rd. The dance is said to have begun when candy sellers performed song and dance to attract customers, and it has continued to be passed down in the region. It ceased to be performed for a time, but was revived by the local women. Today, elementary school students participate, and it is performed on the day of the matsuri.

From Yokohama station go approx. 50 min. on the Keikyu Main line to Miurakaigan station. Approx. 20 min. walk.

By Bus

From Miurakaigan Eki bus stop take a Keihin Kyuko Bus bound for Tsurugizaki or for Misakihigashioka via Tsurugizaki and get off after approx. 5 min. at Hakusan Jinja bus stop. Approx. 3 min. walk.

By Car

Approx. 20 min. along National Route 134 then Prefectural Route 215 from the Sahara interchange of the Yokohama-Yokosuka Road.
