Yakumo Jinja Shunki Reitaisai 八雲神社春季例大祭 Tokyo (Apr.)
Hamura City is known for Hamura Weir, the source of the Tamagawa Aqueduct. The Hamura Flower and Water Matsuri is held every spring, and on the second Saturday and Sunday of April, dashi (floats) and mikoshi (shrine floats) are paraded through the streets. The highlight is the Yakumo Shrine mikoshi river crossing, in which three mikoshi are taken into the Tamagawa River, surrounded by blooming cherry blossoms. Another feature is the group of six floats from shrines around the city, which are pulled through the streets together. The matsuri heralds the arrival of spring in Tamagawa.
